Save the date... this year's Christmas kick-off takes place Thursday, November 20 from 5pm onwards.
This annual evening event will see bright holiday lights and Christmas decor lighting up the street, and the unveiling of beautiful Christmas window displays at dozens of shops and restaurants throughout the neighbourhood. Festive carollers will be making the rounds, free gingerbread cookies and warming stations found along 9th Ave, and gift wrap by donation at Silver Threads (1311 9 Ave. SE).
Following the Nov. 20 evening event, Christmas in Inglewod will continue through December 24 with special events, free parking and more taking place on the first 3 Saturdays in December. We hope you'll join us for our most #Inspired Christmas season yet #InInglewood!
Find It Calgary is bringing it's famed Night Markets back for on fantastic Friday evenings this summer, beginning on Friday, June 13.
After just one year, the Inglewood Night Market (presented by non-profit, 100% volunteer find it) has become a street party – the happiest community gathering place in Inglewood. With two full blocks of arts and crafts vendors, local farm produce, crazily creative trunk sales, artists at work, tantalizing street food and live music, it’s much more than a market, it’s a happening.
And it’s that community vibe they’re building on. This year they’ll have bands and professional dancers who will literally get you dancing in the street.
Friday, June 13: Indie bands including Locomotive Ghost from 6-11:30pm, with dancers inciting the crowd to rock your booty in the street, 8-10pm;
Friday, July 11: Live foot-stompin’ country music 6-11:30pm, with old-fashioned Stampede Square-dancing in the street for all ages, 8-10pm;
Friday, August 8: Latin music from 6-11:30pm, and steamy Latin dance in the street 8-10pm++, with pro dancers teaching salsa and other hot Latin moves;
Friday, September 12: High-tech DJs and as it gets dark, the dancing grand finale:Just Dance on a giant screen with People’s Choice prizes for the best dancers.
The number of vendors will increase to 60 from 40 (keeping the focus on hand-made arts and crafts, interactive family-oriented activities and local farm produce). Augmenting Café Gravity’s patio, BITE Groceteria is adding a new patio. Both patios will be expanded on market nights. This is where neighbours hang out together all evening, chatting with friends walking by.
Happy crowds stroll 9th Avenue on market night, enjoying delightful shops, great restaurants, live music at the Ironwood Stage and Blues Can, contemporary art at the Esker Foundation, and people-watching on the street.
If you're interested in participating as a vendor, please take a look at the vendor information and contact Find It at firstname.lastname@example.org. If you'd like to volunteer, they'd love to have you! Find It's small team of friends and neighbours had a blast putting on last year's markets. They welcome your help, whether you'd like to be part of the planning team or just coming out to lend a hand on market night. And who knows, you might get a free find it t-shirt! email@example.com
