The spectacular two-story, fire-breathing mechanical octopus from Californian artist Duane Flatmo and special effects mastermind Jerry Kunkel is making its Canadian debut as part of Beakerhead 2014 and Find It's final 2014 Inglewood Night Market on Friday, Sept. 12!
Constructed primarily out of recycled junk from the local scrap yard, El Pulpo is a spectacular interactive sculpture that, as with all things Beakerhead, ingeniously combines art and technology.
Don't miss this one-of-a-kind display of art on fire headed to the 'hood, and stationed at Crown Surplus – 1005 11 St. S.E.
You can catch El Pulpo at the Inglewood Night Market on Friday, Sept. 12, as well as:
• Sept. 10-11 – 11am to 2pm: meet the crew and the contraption, 7-10pm: fiery live performance!
• Sept. 12 – 11am to 2pm: meet the crew and the contraption, 7-11pm: fiery live extended performance!
Big news! Inglewood has been nominated as one of the 14 best neigbourhoods in Canada in the Canadian Institute of Planners 'Great Places in Canada' contest!
Voting takes place from August 20 - Sept 25, with the winner announced in October. Head to www.GreatPlacesInCanada.ca and show your support for our fabulous neighbourhood and vibrant business district by casting your vote!
